Rabbit-Force Subs – for the sake of six billion humans’ peace and happiness, we, The Rabbit-Force, bring you HQ anime!

Carrot drop

And you thought that a colony drop was bad..

Long story short: Rurouni Kenshin TV is dropped as of now :(

Long story long: well, when I started this project, I was a complete n00b (not that I’m an expert now or anything, but I believe I’ve learned a lot since then :) and what I’ve taken as ‘ZOMG R2J QuaL1ty!!’ was in fact oversharpening (and some other artifacts) >_<;; While in my v2s of RK I tried to fix that (dehaloing, etc), the result was in fact worse than R1 rips by, say AHQ. And with the fact that fixing the subs has become too much of a hassle and I was thinking of just releasing them as-is (with a possible release of just the fixed ASS files later), that would mean that my rips would only have the advantage of OP/ED karaoke (or OP/ED in the case of AHQ) and styled subs… And that’s not enough for me to release 95 eps of blur T_T. I’d prefer to work on some projects that I have actual R2J DVD ISOs
(and not some crappy oversharpened, oversmoothed Chinese raws >_<), so to end this struggle (I know a lot of ppl would want a nice, true R2J rips of RK) I’m dropping RK,
so that I can focus on other projects, which, hopefully, I’ll be able to bring in whole R2J glory :3

Dragon Ball fans, don’t worry – I’m not dropping DB, in fact expect a release soon, this time based on the actual Dragon Box DVDs :3

Till the next carrot,
igro

juggen Says:

Just want some clarification :)
You’re going to drop the encoding, but will u still release improved scripts?

DesoNoto Says:

Well that really sucks because I deleted my AHQ episodes thinking you weren’t going to drop this. :’( One question though. Is there any chance you might start RK in the future when you get more experienced?

juggen Says:

He only got crap raws he said, so probably not lolz

btw, I deleted mine too >_<

DesoNoto Says:

@juggen

At least I’m not the only one lol.

RiDeLub Says:

Although I have downloaded but haven’t watched your RK I think it’s bad you dropped it because your other releases where awsome(at least DB and RK Tsuiokuhen that I’ve watched :-P).Your reasons are good though.
Well keep up this great work you do(especially with DB).

igro Says:

@juggen
Sorry, but no, don’t see the point of doing that :P And besides, I would have to do at least two versions – one for AHQ’s release, the other for A-S/a4e – PITA, imho ;D

@DesoNoto
It’s not a matter of experience – the source I have is crap (though, I did need some experience to see that ;) So unless by some miracle I’d get my hands on the actual R2 DVDs (I’ve been trying to get them from Share for some time now, but without luck), I won’t be getting back to this series.

Sorry you guys lost your older releases of RK, but seeing how things are, I’d rather work on some other projects that I have really good R2 DVDs for, some of them rare, imho (Battle Programmer Shirase DVD rips anyone? ;), then continue struggling with these crappy raws..

DesoNoto Says:

Well it’s great to hear your trying to be a perfectionist with quality. Keep up the great work with the other series you plan to do. :P

Synbiote Says:

OMG.. that’s a bad way to start your morning :(

now i seriously hope you get some R2J DVD releases in your mail by an anonymous mailer
cause your rips just rocks.. ROCKS i says..not just in a rocking way.. but in a MEGADEATH shiny metally rock way…
:( shitstains..

i’ll be crying in the corner now… lack of kenshins :(

draickin Says:

Well, it kinda sucks hearing that you dropped Kenshin, as it’s one of the shows I’d like to have in great quality. I totally understand your reasoning, though. Anyhow, I look forward to your next awesome releases of DB and/or whatever other project you would happen to have in mind.

PS. I think that at some point you mentioned that you found a better source for the DB eps and that you were going to re-release; do I remember correctly or was I daydreaming again? :P

PS 2. Good to have you back! d^^

SAL Says:

I understand your reasons for dropping kenshin. I do have the a-s encodes so I guess I’ll stick to their release.

About Dragon Ball great to see you are still doing it. The only group that has quality dragonbox dragonball encodes is a-s. Their quality is great but it has two problems, one it is missing previews from ep and their filesize is big but overall they did a very good job. so it is great to see you encoding db. any chance that after finishing db will u do dbz?

igro Says:

Hmm, probably no – A-Fanrips (not to mention DBZTNL) is already doing them , they are supposed to be doing an H264 version too, in the future. And I’d really not take on such a long series…

Sal Says:

igro, I am aware of the fact that a-fanrips is doing dbz but you know about their source. Did they use dragonbox source or the region 1 remastered widescreen dvds? I would’ve purchases the dragonbox set but cant for because no english subtitles and expensive. A-S is doing dbz from dragonbox but their releases dont have previews.

someguy Says:

Thanks for those wonderful clannad releases, i cried tears of joy man. the audio is really wonderful.
Will you continue to do more dvd rips?

igro Says:

/me cries tears of joy – finally someone noticed the superb audio on the DVD release of CLANNAD. The audio on the DVD was LPCM :D~ I was thinking of compressing it to FLAC more maximum audio pleasure, but in the end I opted for Vorbis @ q 9.0 (~320 kbps) – you’d have to have some high-end audio set to hear the difference ;P But even without such equipment, you can hear how much better the DVD audio sounds compared to the TV rips >_<;;
Anyway, glad you like it, more CLANNAD coming very soon (since it’s so easy to encode and prepare the release :P).

Dan Says:

It’s too bad you decided to drop Kenshin. I was really looking forward to a copy of Kenshin that did not include “Battousai Manslayer”. Right now, the only subs I have that I can stand watching are the old Shinsen Gumi subs made when it originally aired. And believe me, you can’t get much worse than the quality on those! Ah well. Good luck with DB.

w07 Says:

@Dan :
Can please tell me where I can find Shinsen Gumi subs for Rurouni Kenshin? cause I can easily merge there subs with a high quality video from a4e,Psycho Aniem or AHQ, Cause these groups uses the subs of the DVD which suck real hard at least t Shinsen Gumi subs uses honorifics and are a lot more accurate then the DVD subs which is basically a written version of the dub dialog.

Tessier Says:

I’d like to know as well, not much hope in it though. They were the first one’s I ever saw and I just -can not- stand the official subs.
If anyone knows where they are or has them please drop a line. (ta2jean@hotmail.com)
